PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE

Car Insurance in NYC, with a closer look at your everyday driving.

Your car insurance should reflect who drives, where you park, and how you use your vehicle. We help New York households understand their options, with the same personal attention we bring to business and building coverage.

The coverage conversation

What it can cover

Liability for covered accidents

Bodily injury and property damage liability can address covered claims when you are responsible for an accident. We explain limits, exclusions, and how the policy applies to household drivers.

Collision and comprehensive

Collision can cover damage to your car from an accident. Comprehensive can address covered events such as theft or damage from falling objects. Deductibles and settlement terms deserve a separate review.

Personal injury protection

New York and New Jersey are no-fault states that require personal injury protection. We explain how this coverage fits with the policy, without treating it as protection against every injury expense.

Uninsured motorists and optional protection

We review uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, along with available options such as rental reimbursement or roadside assistance. The wording and availability of each option vary.

A policy that fits your life

Who it’s for

We work with drivers seeking car insurance in Brooklyn, auto insurance in Queens, and coverage across NYC. Street parking, a garage, commuting, and occasional trips outside the city can all affect the conversation. Tell us the actual garaging address rather than a mailing address that does not reflect where the car stays.

A new driver in the household, a leased vehicle, or a move between New York and New Jersey calls for a fresh review. Share all household drivers and regular vehicle users, even if someone has a separate policy. Financing or leasing agreements may also set coverage requirements.

If you use a personal car for deliveries, ride-hailing, or other business work, tell us before assuming it is covered. Personal auto policies may exclude those activities; we can discuss the distinction from commercial auto insurance.

Independent advice. Personal attention.

How we work

We start with your current policy, driver details, vehicle information, and how you use each car. We compare options from multiple carriers and explain the trade-offs between deductibles, coverage features, and policy restrictions. Carrier underwriting determines which options are available.

Adam or Peter will help you look beyond the headline premium. We discuss how your auto liability connects with your home policy and any personal umbrella, so underlying requirements are part of the review. Your policy wording controls coverage.

A little clarity

Your questions, answered.

Insurance shouldn’t leave you guessing. Here are a few things you may want to know.

What information is needed for car insurance in NYC?

Start with your current declarations page, vehicle details, garaging address, driver information, and usual vehicle use. Tell us about commuting, business use, and any household changes. We will explain additional information needed by carriers.

Does personal car insurance cover driving for work?

It depends on the use and policy. Deliveries, ride-hailing, and other commercial activities may be excluded. Describe your work before relying on a personal policy; we can discuss whether separate coverage is needed.

Does New York auto insurance include personal injury protection?

New York is a no-fault state that requires personal injury protection. New Jersey is also a no-fault state requiring this coverage. Benefits, conditions, and how coverage applies should be reviewed under the actual policy.

Should I review my auto policy when I move to Queens or Brooklyn?

Yes. Update the garaging address, household drivers, and vehicle use. A move can also change registration and policy arrangements. Let us know before the move so we can discuss the information carriers need.
